    The role
    As a paralegal in this role you will provide full administrative support to a team of partners and associates working on the department's largest clients:The core responsibilities for working on these clients are set out below.

    This is a role that requires excellent interpersonal skills as you will be a key point of contact for our clients. The ability to listen and understand requests from clients and being able to anticipate and respond to their needs is essential. Providing full administrative support (including drafting deeds) to the team, you will be organised and proactive in your approach to work and cope well under pressure.

    Core responsibilities
    *Filing: Maintaining the electronic (and hard-copy) filing by monitoring all relevant internal and external correspondence relating to the RPS and ESPS. This involves updating various tables, a table of current actions related to an individual client and maintaining client specific material on the 'extranet' - an online portal for the clients to access.
    *Deeds: Managing the process for the execution of deeds, including preliminary drafting, issuing engrossments and making certified copies. This involves liaison with the clients, pensions team and general office.
    *Billing: Exclusive ownership of the billing process. Requesting pre-bills, checking time entries, drafting narratives, cross checking with all electronic filing and issuing the bills after checking with relevant associates and the client matter partner. Liaison with billing team, general office, associates and partners.
    *Client contact: Ability to be the initial point of contact for one of the department's major clients. This requires knowledge of their business, and who is responsible for specific matters. Queries will either be dealt with personally, or referred onto the relevant associate
    *Organising Meetings: Liaison with the clients and our internal teams to make sure that all RPS and ESPS meetings hosted at are organised to the clients' specifications.
    *Preparing updates for clients: Collating recent developments in pensions law material and creating speaking notes for partners to present to the client.
    *PSL Tasks: Scope to get involved in PSL tasks, such as writing case summaries for bulletins. This involves legal research and organisation.
    *Business Development: Occasional opportunities to get involved in production of business development material.
    *Ad-Hoc: Occasional opportunity for proof-reading, drafting and legal research tasks.
    *Other matters: There may be opportunities from time to time to become involved in fee earning matters.

    Qualifications required
    *Law degree or undergraduate degree (ideally 2.1 or first)
    *Preferably will have successfully completed LPC/BVC
    *Office administration experience and ideally paralegal work experience
    *IT packages (Excel, Word, Internet, Outlook)

    *The ability to adapt working style to suit the best practice of the team, and the ability to work under pressure.
    *Being able to listen and understand requests from clients, anticipating and responding to their needs and ensuring satisfaction by checking that completed assignments are meet (or exceed) the needs and expectations of others.
