Director: Tax Protection: Tony Borman
Meet the Director of our Tax Protection Division, dedicated to defending businesses and individuals in all levels of tax investigation.
Before forming the practice, Tony gained more than 20 years experience in this field, both as Inland Revenue Inspector and as a senior adviser in the accountancy profession.
Tony has particular experience in SCI investigations and prosecutions. He also has considerable knowledge of the fee protection insurance industry and advises leading insurance companies.
Director: VAT: Steve Botham
Chartered Tax Adviser Steve specialises in VAT matters in the UK.
A member of the Association of Accounting Technicians since 1991, he was admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation in 1994 and as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1997.
Steve is actively involved in a number of professional bodies, and represents some of them in national negotiations with Customs and Excise. Having started his VAT career with them, he moved to accountancy before starting this business with Tony Borman at the end of 1999.
Steve advises a wide variety of clients from major PLCs to sole traders. Around half his work is in the "not for profit sector" including a number of education-based clients.
