1995-2000
Bourne partners with Wilson Learning, to make sure our team and customers understand our ethics and philosophy.
Butlins close Ayr and Pwllheli which reopen as Haven Parks – Craig Tara and Hafan y Môr.
2000-03
Bourne Leisure, with the support of Candover and Legal & General Ventures, buys Rank Holiday Division; breaks the Divisional structure and returns the business to its brands, beginning a process of cultural change.
Five Year Plan is put into place to secure Bourne’s future success.
2004-08
Bourne honours its commitment to Candover and Legal & General Ventures and buys in their investment.
Bourne disposes of Haven Europe and five small caravan parks to focus on core business.
The new “Shoreline Hotel” opens to the public and trades at more than 90% occupancy.
Construction is completed of the new timeshare operation at Butlins Minehead, “BlueSkies”.
Bourne acquires one new Caravan Park in January 2007.
Construction commenced on a second hotel at Bognor Regis in 2008.
Since “Old Bourne” acquired Rank Holiday Division in October 2000 the group has: maintained its focus on basic operations and the guest experience; and harnessed the energy and pride of each BRAND’S management and park teams.
Managing the business having regard to these basic principles has resulted in organic earnings growth from £80.0m in 2003 to £103.2m (representing a compound annual growth rate of some 7%). We are confident that 2008 will show further growth in sales and profit.
