Bighams' key behaviours
We are very lucky to be a small, fast growing, privately owned business. But a few years ago it struck me that as our team was growing there was the possibility we might lose a bit of what, I hope, makes Bigham's a special place to work. To prevent this I sat down with some key member of the team and we agreed some guidelines on how we would like everyone at Bigham's to treat each other. That was five years ago and we've had no reason to change them, so something must be working.
Here they are:
1) It's more rewarding to do any job with passion & pride
At Bigham's we are passionate and proud of the work we do - as individuals and as a team. We believe that if you enjoy what you do, you do it better.
2) Greater involvement stimulates better performance
By being involved as part of the Bighams team we become empowered to develop the business. Everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas and constructively challenging those of others.
3) Showing mutual respect is the fair way to behave
At Bighams we respect each other, customers and consumers by treating people with transparency and honesty - every time, all of the time.
4) Setting and achieving goals is always worthwhile
At Bighams we are happy to be successful and to grow profitably. Profitable growth creates the freedom for us to achieve personal and company goals.
5) We face the future with daring & excitement
At Bigham's we dare to be different. We are always flexible in implementing change.
