In 2005, after a four year stint in the world of advertising in London I left the UK for new challenges and experiences in Australia. Landing in an unknown place, even a friendly one like Sydney, with little or no contacts can be a daunting prospect, especially when you're looking for work that takes you down a different career path - in my case I wanted a move into marketing. Various recruitment agencies came and went, promises were made but little materialised, until that is I chanced on Michael Page who opened up an opportunity for me as Marketing Manager at The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.
 
I can honestly say that whilst in Australia and now back in the UK, where I've recently found a new role again through Michael Page, I have found the recruitment agents to be professional, refreshingly honest, proactive and genuinely working for my best interests. I would certainly recommend Michael Page to anyone looking for the next move, whatever that may be, since if it wasn't for them I would not be where I currently am today - at the end of the day I'd always turn back to them because they're not only a good bunch of people, but they always seem to be able to open the door to that bit of opportunity you were hoping for.

The National Archives has been really pleased by the service it has received from Michael Page. We have an unusual Press and Marketing Office requiring specific industry skills which are not always easy to find, but Katherine Archbold has repeatedly managed to deliver an ideal candidate. Upon registering with Michael Page for a Contract position I found Ik to be very efficient and informative. I have been really impressed by Michael Page since registering with them just over a year ago. I decided to quit my job without a role to go to - which seemed like a pretty scary / stupid thing to do at the time.  Within hours of leaving my initial interview with MP they were on the phone running various positions past me. I was placed in a new role within a week.

My first contract was very successful.  Originally I was only meant to be there for 2 months.  2 months soon turned into 10 months.  I am in another role - again - a role I am finding interesting and enjoyable. I'm just thinking ahead to how great my CV is going to look in a year's time!

Having had experience of other agencies, MP is different in that they offer a one to one personal service.  It's obvious that the consultants speak to one another and talk about their clients needs.  Some days, 3 different consultant could be on the phone wanting to talk about roles they think may be of interest.  Once in a role, MP are in constant touch too, checking that things are going well. Vicky has been superb. Very friendly and professional. I have also been impressed with Rob and Anna.

I have been a client of Michael Page since I arrived in the UK in late June, 2005. In this time, I have been placed twice through Michael Page and with both posts (short-term contracts) I have been impressed with the level of service I have received from my consultants. I met Vicky in early April whilst working in a permanent position for an independent regulatory body in the health care sector. After talking through several job opportunities and options for contract positions, Vicky was able to offer me an opportunity to be put forward as a Marketing Consultant for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
