Internal Audit jobs and advice
The Internal Audit team primarily recruit qualified accountants and auditors into Internal Audit divisions within Investment and Retail Banking. These roles include newly qualified ACA accountants up to and including Internal Audit Directors & Heads of Internal Audit. Many of the roles we recruit are at group level and sit within a company’s domiciled head quarters or European head quarters - therefore we look for candidates who are able to look at macro issues affecting their firm as well as micro issues affecting the specific department that they are auditing at that time. Most individuals are between Associate Vice President level to Director.
Career progression within Internal Audit is excellent. The skill set gained, a complete understanding of the control environment together with a deep understanding of the different business groups, products and services in the bank, is highly sought after by other areas of a corporation. All banks encourage auditors to see other business groups including risk, compliance, finance and operations and career progression is based upon a genuine meritocracy.
The profile of Internal Audit has advanced significantly in the last few years. As the emphasis on Corporate Governance has increased and the rules and regulations surrounding Financial Services have been refined and tightened, a robust consultative internal audit function is key to an organisations success.
