Facilities Management – ‘the unsung heroes’
Representatives from Michael Page Property and Construction participated in this year’s annual BIFM Conference 2007. The event, which took place in Oxford, was attended by some of the most prominent figures in Facilities Management.
Michael Page consultants were on hand to give career advice, impart market knowledge, conduct 'CV surgery' (where applicable!) and gave candidates and clients insight into the recruitment market. The Michael Page area also ran a 'caption competition' where several lucky people walked away with magnums of champagne for providing their witty comments.
Jacqui Cowing, Director for Michael Page Property and Construction commented ‘the event was a huge success. As well as talking to many candidates, we were able to engage into discussion about some prevalent issues happening in the market place’.
Cowing continued ‘a message that did come through clearly was that those working in FM are the chameleons of the business environment. They get involved in shop floor issues right up to board level strategy. Something that we found interesting was the different definitions people gave to FM.’
As a result of the event, Michael Page managed to build some great relationships with great people, both candidates and clients. And moving forward, the division is looking into publishing some further research to build on the numerous discussions they were involved with.
