The Interim Market
Many of our clients in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man use temporary staff (temps) or interim managers on a regular basis. Whilst these markets are not as developed as the London market, regular opportunities do exist and are often sought after based on the proximity to the UK.
We are always interested in hearing from executives who are interested in temporary or contract roles in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man or indeed any other offshore jurisdiction.
Lifestyle
These opportunities are attractive for a number of reasons.
The nature of the work tends to be interesting and challenging. Assignments are with the leading employers, well known and widely recognised financial and fiduciary services companies, leading offshore law firms, successful commercial companies and not-for-profit organisations
Rates paid are extremely attractive as they tend to be in line with London. Some assignments will include travel and/or accommodation. For those that do not, your daily rate needs to increase by £80 (approx) to cover expenses. Housing and/or travel expenses are frequently included
A short term role enables you to sample ‘offshore life’ whilst deciding whether or not you wish to relocate offshore on a permanent basis.
The quality of life offshore is exceptional. You can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy an improved climate, minimal commuting times, very low levels of crime and enjoy access to great beaches and the ‘outdoor life’. Climate does vary depending on jurisdiction; however the weather in the Channel Islands is significantly better than mainland UK
Working offshore is an excellent way for Antipodeans to extend their European working career. Many of our clients are prepared to secure employment visas for non UK/EU workers. Working offshore is ideal for Antipodeans or other International candidates whose working holiday visas have expired and are keen to stay near to the UK/London at the end of their working holiday visa
Demand Areas
Demand is constantly high for Accountants (ACA, CPA, CA or ACCA), especially for roles paying between £250 and £400 per day. Also those that are STEP & ICSA qualified.
