Secondary Teacher Jobs

The National Curriculum is organised on the basis of four key stages, with secondary school teachers responsible for:

  • Key stage 3: Ages 11-14 (Years 7-9)
  • Key stage 4: Ages 14-16 (Years 10-11)

Specialising in one or more national curriculum subject, Secondary school teachers will devise schemes of work and lesson plans that use creativity, humour and imagination to foster a healthy culture of learning and to generate productive interactions with pupils aged 11-16.

In September 2008 -  the new ‘14-19 curriculum’ came into effect, changes that would make young people’s education more relevant to the world they live in and which constituted the most sweeping reform in this area for a generation. The new curriculum prioritises core skills — English, maths and ICT, as well as focusing on teamwork and other personal skills, preparing young people for study at a higher level or for employment. Considered an invaluable partner by state and independent schools, colleges and academies across London, Michael Page Education has closely followed these exciting developments.

For teachers that want to be at the forefront of what’s happening in Education today, the fact that this initiative is ongoing means exciting work opportunities. Thanks to our partner status, Michael Page has first refusal on the best long term, short term and daily supply teaching jobs in Secondary schools throughout London.
