The background

Historic Royal Palaces were in need of five retail managers to manage various shops across their estate.

The roles

  • Store manager
  • Four assistant store managers

The solution

We designed a bespoke recruitment strategy to attract the very best retail management candidates, including searching our own database and third-party networks. We also advertised the roles on the key sites using our Reach Talent advertising package, which included:,,, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google. After screening candidates, we ran two assessment days to provide the client with the best shortlist possible.

The outcome

  • All positions were filled off the back of the assessment centres
  • Two of the positions were filled from candidates applying directly through the adverts placed
  • Historic Royal Palaces were delighted with the work undertaken and now work with Michael Page Retail exclusively
