Our Client is a leading supplier of ambient packaged goods to the retail, wholesale and manufacturing food sectors with an annual turnover in excess of £50m. The company was established around 5 / 6 years ago has grown rapidly since its beginning and this growth is expected to continue in the years ahead.

Job Description

Due to the companies continuous growth an opportunity has arisen within the commercial team for an Account Manager to come on board. With an established account base of circa £1.5m the portfolio includes convenience, discount and high Street retailer's as well food service and manufacturing companies. As an Account Manager the successful candidate will be expected to retain and develop business within these existing accounts as well as developing new profitable business. Reporting directly to the business development manager you will be given a great deal of freedom to identify business opportunities and develop long term relationships within this fast moving market.

As an Account Manager key responsibilities will include: -

* With good interpersonal skills you will develop and manage relationships within new and existing accounts to identify possible opportunities
* You will proactively develop those opportunities and with good negotiation skills you will increase the sales and profitability of your account set
* Work closely and build rapport with colleagues, suppliers and customers to achieve account objectives
* Ensure effective maintenance of sales reporting, meeting agendas, meeting reports, market reports and in house systems
* Forecasting and budgeting
* Working within a target driven and performance related environment
* Travelling required to attend meetings, trade shows and possible supplier visits

The Successful Applicant

This is an important role for our client to fill and as a result the successful candidate will have the following attributes:

* 4 or more years' experience within the FMCG sector, preferably already serving as an account manager but must be from a sales background
* You must have a proven track record in sales
* You must have good interpersonal skills
* You must have strong analytical and literacy skills
* Educated to A-Level standard
* Office competent - you must have strong knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
