Job Description

Account Manager

  • Analyse the profitability of the LA business and the contracts which make it up proposing actions to continuously improve it.
  • Manage the pipeline and bid process in close cooperation with the National Sales Manager and Sales & Marketing Director.
  • Devise activity plans for customers and potential customers in the months preceding any tender publication to ensure they are fully aware of my clients latest product and service developments.
  • Manage a team on a day to day basis in order to ensure sales targets are achieved; coaching, supporting and counselling where required.
  • Create a clear strategy to ensure the clients bids are of the highest standard and have the best chance of success.
  • Monitor and control pricing; seeking out opportunities to improve the profitability of the LA business wherever possible.
  • Provide clear communication to heads of supporting departments to ensure contract KPIs are met.
  • Monitor changes in tender specifications, driving changes which may favour the client and removing, where possible, those which may constrict us.

Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Proven track record in Commercial Management with evidence of managing the profitability of a business.
  • Ideally a proven track record of selling into local authorities or other government departments.
  • Budgetary responsibility and control.
