Job Description

Account Manager Description

Campaign management:

  • Plan and execute on influencer relation programmes, event and launch activities with limited input from the account director
  • Understand different influencer groups to include media, analysts, political influencers and social media influencers and recognise when it is appropriate to engage with each
  • Lead influencer relations efforts and initiatives, cultivating and enhancing relationships with key contacts
  • Manage relationships with relevant third parties such as client customers and partners
  • Maintain personal relationships with media and secure pro-active publicity for clients
  • Ensure junior team members are delivering on activities they have been tasked to complete
  • Act as first proof for all client content developed by junior team members with only minimal further support required from account director


  • Play a leading role in campaign and project planning, supported by senior team
  • Show an understanding of strategic development and mapping strategy to relevant tactics
  • Proactively generate new and original ideas and opportunities for clients
  • Anticipate client needs and ensure advanced preparation
  • Understand client businesses and the key industry issues that directly and indirectly affect them
  • Understand major trends in relevant industry and recognise how these are likely to impact client's businesses


  • Serve as a principle day-to-day client contact regarding tactical activities
  • Provide client counsel relating to campaign activity and strategic plans
  • Represent clients and products at industry conferences and at events
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to client requests or needs
  • Instruct junior team members in areas of media relations and press content creation
  • Present confidently and knowledgably

Content creation:

  • Develop and edit press materials with minimal input from account director
  • Work with junior team to edit and refine their efforts

Agency support:

  • Serve as a mentor to junior staff members, helping them to nurture their skills and take ownership of activities as appropriate
  • Proactive involvement in new business pitches to include input into slide deck development
  • Work in alignment with US team and accounts team to ensure smooth processing of all administrative content
  • Strive to increase knowledge of agency/client procedures, your own knowledge of the public relations field, as well as your clients' business

The Successful Applicant

Account Manager's profile;

  • A minimum of four years' experience in a public relations agency or similar position
  • Smart, dedicated and creative team player with excellent problem solving skills and ability to keep calm in a crisis
  • Excellent writing skills with good attention to detail
  • Excellent influencer relations experience developing deep relationships with media and regularly securing quality placements for clients
  • Strong verbal communications skills with clients and managers
  • Ability to proactively "manage up" when required
  • Understanding of integrated marketing strategies
  • Ability to independently manage consecutive projects, achieving on agreed deliverables
  • A bachelor's degree achieving a minimum of 2.1 or equivalent
