Job Description

The Accountant based in London will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting and performing the finance control function for the firm which includes:
  1. Monthly P&L reconciliation
  2. Balance sheet integrity
  3. Weekly working capital reporting and analysis
  4. Monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting
  5. Monthly management reports with commentary
  • Perform the business partner role for the firm.
  • Identify control improvements and efficiency opportunities around the existing processes.
  • Finance representative for the firm dealing with adhoc requests from operations, risk and front office.
  • Become knowledgeable of the Group accounting and risk policy & procedures whilst ensuring compliance and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Work closely and manage relationships with the front office, operations, risk, derivative control, treasury and Group finance teams.
  • Contribute to the continuous system process improvement initiative and the final implementation stages of the physical trading system.
  • Manage the external audit process including the preparation of statutory accounts for the firm.

The Successful Applicant

The Accountant based in London will have the following exposure:

  • A qualified accountant who has worked in a fast paced environment

  • Experience gained from working in a trading, resource or banking organisation with exposure to hard commodities.

  • IT literate and knowledge of accounting systems (Ideally SUN & Hyperion). Experience of Brady trading system preferred. Proficient in English. Demonstrates commercial awareness.

  • Explains issues clearly and can present problems in an easy to understand manner.

  • Escalates control or risk issues where necessary.
