About Our Client
This Client is a Top 10 practice with a fantastic client base consisting of a mix of sectors and SME's through to large international groups.
The Accounts Supervisor is too liaise closely with the department heads, including supervising a broad range of assignments within the portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements for Limited Companies (both audit and non-audit), Charities and Academies from client records.
You will have a varied portfolio of clients, the majority being owner managed businesses ranging from £5m to £25m turnover. Charities, academies and Company accounts.
Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and relevant accounting standards
Utilising Excel and SAPA / CCH to produce working papers and financial statements
Overseeing the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
To conduct systems and control reviews across a range of clients, specifically in the charity sector.
To ensure that assignments are undertaken in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions, and to carry out the more rigorous aspects of the assignment efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm's procedures.
To communicate any problems in complying with these instructions, or any contentious issues identified, to the assignment manager immediately, identifying and commenting upon the possible solutions.
To practise the principles of excellent client service at all times. The position will involve significant client contact.
Dealing with billing and other administrative issues relating to the portfolio.
Assist in staff management as required.
The Successful Applicant
The Accounts Supervisor will come from a practice background and ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified with 3-4 years exposure.
Some audit exposure would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite
Due to the nature of this work, a strong understanding of Financial Reporting Standards, Consolidation technique and UK GAAP is essential.
