My client is one of the leading players in the UK forecourt industry. The company operates over 200 forecourts across England and Wales, with ambitious plans to substantially grow this network in the coming months.

Their forecourts separate out in to various branded convenience stores as well as being paired with some of the most well established petrol providers in the world.

Job Description

  • To ensure your area of sites are consistently performing in line with company standards and our those of our brand partners.
  • Responsibility for driving the shop sales and site profitability
  • To priorities compliance issues sufficiently to ensure essential Legal compliance and ensure all store follow company procedures.
  • To identify business opportunities on potential new stores and existing store developments.
  • Analyse overall sales, audits, performance and customer service standards and identify potential for improvement.
  • Responsible for the successful opening and operation of a new or re-furbished store in the Area.
  • To ensure sufficient control reporting is used to deliver performance improvements.
  • Prioritize your time to meet the varying requirements of each store and operator on your area

Complete business reviews with the operators in your area and assist them in identifying risk and potential within their business.

  • To ensure all stores follow the relevant company procedures.

Liaise between various company departments to ensure consistent store operational standards and presentation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Currently working in a Store Manager for a small to mid size supermarket chain or a cluster manager (of at least two sites if from a smaller convenience store) with at least 2 yrs. experience at the level.

Has driven KPI's achievements through good implementation of controls, and achieving sale targets through understanding merchandising and promotional activity.

A good understanding of what makes a successful Area Manager and understands the convenience market place.

A Level educated or equivalent

  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on customer service
  • An enabling leadership style - able to develop and mentor others and lead by example
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work smart
  • Ability to analyse a problem and implement the best possible solution
  • Drive, motivation and willingness to challenge yourself and others
  • Flexibility and availability to meet the demands expected from an open all hour's business
