About Our Client

My client are an established security product manufacturer of locks and security systems.

They have an excellent reputation in the market and are looking to capitalise on this by employing a personable Area Sales Manager to develop their distribution capabilities with a particular focus on the South East market.

Job Description

The Area Sales Manager will develop a strategic area plan alongside the sales Director focusing on:

  • Account management - managing and developing existing accounts to maximise spend and provide continued customer service.
  • New business development - by understanding the market and targeting key decision makers in new businesses. These will include builders merchants, London cash and carry's , Locksmith's and other relevant retail and trade outlets.



You will be expected to manage your geographic area in the most effective manner to make between 6-8 quality calls a day.

You will be tasked with opening new accounts with proactive businesses who have shown they are keen to partner with you to promote your product range in stores.

You will be confident talking about the product benefits and financial benefits to customers (RRP and margins) asking for an order where appropriate.

You will show initiative and an entrepreneurial flair, able to identify opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell.

This is a dynamic role in a key location for my client.

The Successful Applicant

The Area Sales Manager will have experience selling to retail and the trade.

They will be able to demonstrate a track record in new business acquisition and area growth.

They will be the right combination of customer and sales focused, able to build long-term relationships for sustainable growth and able to ask for orders on a daily business to generate instant business.

The candidate will be self-disciplined and capable of organising their own diary in an efficient manner.

What's on Offer

£25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience.
