About Our Client

Our client Castle Water is a successful and fast growing water company, supplying services to business customers across throughout the UK. Currently serving 6,000 business customers across Scotland, Castle Water is growing rapidly and has recently agreed to assume responsibility for providing customer services to business customers of Portsmouth water ahead of deregulation of the English market in 2017. Castle Water has formal partnerships with a number of national organisations including NFU Scotland and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.

They are able to serve the requirements of the largest multi-site customers, right through to small family businesses. Castle Water is licensed by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland under the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005.

Job Description

As an Area Account Manager, you will have responsibility for developing and driving ambitious growth plans across the UK. This opportunity is about ensuring strong and sustainable customer and relationships, optimising distribution efficiencies and developing a high level of service.

  • Identify, develop and nurture long-term relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Researching and profiling prospect and customer accounts.
  • Successfully negotiate contracts with customers utilising strong commercial acumen to maximise the success of the business.
  • Keep all prospect records current on a daily basis.
  • Build a trusting and positive relationship with prospects by:
    • Understanding prospect's needs and concerns
    • Overcoming and answering objections

The Successful Applicant

Critical to the success of this Area Account Manager will be previous experience within a regional area, with a results driven track record of delivery in sales activities, whilst able to create sustainable relationships with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have demonstrable track record of success, will have strong negotiation skills, and a customer focused approach with in depth knowledge of wholesale distribution, field sales and retailing.

  • Experience of the competitive utilities sector is an advantage but not essential.
  • Successful track record in a regional sales position.
  • Good organisational skills and time management skills.
  • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and applications with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstration of effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with excellent attitude and great work ethic.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong negotiator with experience of meeting and exceeding targets and objectives.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What's on Offer

Basic salary: £30,000. OTE: £50,000 - Uncapped plus pension, health care and life insurance.
