Job Description

The Assistant Litigation Support Manager role involves:

  • Providing advice, guidance and assistance from early case assessment through to hearings / trials for the firm.
  • Provide advice and assistance in all logistical matters / War Rooms.
  • Managing relationships and the workload outsourced to external agencies and bureau in relation to data processing, reprographics, and forensic services in the Litigation Support Manager's absence.
  • Oversee arrangement of arbitration / trial logistics, including the booking of arbitration / retiring rooms, transcription and translation services.
  • Assisting with review of caseload and resourcing requirements within the team.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Assistant Litigation Support Manager must have;

  • Thorough understanding of the English judicial system and legal proceedings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; both oral and written.
  • Excellent drafting skills; in particular drafting litigation support manuals / literature, and case handling correspondence.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task between projects both within the department and as a fee-earner.
  • Very proficient in use of all Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel, as well as Adobe/Nuance.
  • Very proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, including import, export and searching of mailboxes and mail archives (e.g. PST).
  • Very experienced in use of Litigation Support software / systems (direct experience of Relativity is a requisite) and able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the functionality they can provide, and the requirement / appropriateness of their use in supporting the processes involved in conducting litigation.
  • A good general understanding of relational database concepts including different data types, searching and indexing is also desirable.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion in the handling of all client relationships both internal and external.
  • Personable, friendly and approachable disposition.
