About Our Client

Working closely with the UK Head of tax on a range of tax specific projects in the UK and in European operations within the investment and institutional banking division the role offers an engaging blend of compliance and advisory work.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Assisting in the management and delivery of interjurisdiction tax projects including but not limited to Transfer Pricing, Operational Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Transactional Taxes
* Assist tax planning initiatives in both the UK and European entities and subsidiaries
* Prepare quarterly and year end reports for tax provisions and statutory accounts
* Collaborate with other European entities including but not limited to reviewing externally produced tax calculations, assistance and review of VAT reports,
* Analyze and update corporate tax reporting procedures with a focus on identifying and improving internal processes and controls
* Preparation of calculations and submission of corporate tax and VAT returns UK entities
* Review PAYE procedures and assist HR with employment tax related concerns
* Managing any operational tax complications including withholding, tax reclamation and treaty relief
* Prepare returns for all UK subsidiaries for Canadian regulators
* Provide any tax related research when necessary
* Ad hoc duties as necessary

The Successful Applicant

* Professionally qualified with either corporate or indirect tax speciality
* Experience in financial services is an advantage
* Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally
* Willingness to broaden tax knowledge into a variety of new areas
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Self Motivato
