Job Description

This is an opportunity to further your career by gaining international experience for 6 months, with the possibility of securing a permanent role should you wish.
The Associate will be responsible for assisting with cash management and settlement activities for the Real Estate and Infrastructure department, with the objective of supporting the overall business strategy and the needs of the Real Estate and Infrastructure investment teams. 
The role reports into a Senior Associate within the Cash and Settlements sub function. Work is completed under supervision.
  • Service regional financial control teams by  identifying and managing  all payments in an accurate and timely manner according to business requirement 
  • Take responsibility for ensuring investment related settlements  are executed in a timely  and accurate manner 
  •  Manage the payment approval process by liaising with various business teams to obtain required information
  • Generate SWIFT  and printed payment  messages
  • Prepare payment memos,  status reports and information for line manager review 
  • Respond to business requests to validate and enter data to facilitate  payment execution 
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to transaction  activity
  • Maintain key internal relationships within the department e.g. Legal, ITAS and Operations in order to ensure effective and timely transaction execution 
Business Support and Technology Administration
  • Set up and ongoing maintenance of Standard Settlement Instructions within payment system
  • Work with regional teams to ensure compliance with applicable policies and practices in relation to payment and settlement function i.e.  appropriate documentation for investment transactions
  • Support  special projects to enhance the efficiency of the settlements process  and bank account management 
  • Work with a wide range of  IT applications as related to payment processing and message instruction 
  • Support sub function and regional teams by maintaining online banking reporting tool (JPM Access)
Bank Account Management
  • Work in conjunction with regional financial control teams, company secretarial and banking providers to effect changes in bank account signatories
  • Set up bank accounts on payments system as and when needed for your assigned region
  • Review and maintain list of bank accounts for assigned region and update and changes in a timely manner
Cash Management
  • Assist line manager and senior colleagues in the preparation of presentations to senior management and other key  stakeholders  as required
  • Assist in the preparation of cash management reporting including the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to senior management
  • Act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for settlements and cash management activities for assigned region

The Successful Applicant

  • University degree, preferably in business or related field
  • Real Estate and/or infrastructure industry experience preferred
  • Direct experience of accounts payable, purchase ledger or settlements function 
  • Direct experience of payment and reporting systems 
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging technology
  • Strong oral and written communication
