Job Description

An award winning Top 15 accountancy firm is looking for an Associate Director to join their growing corporate finance transaction advisory department.

This is a great chance to join a growing team who work on some amazing projects across a variety of industry sectors and possess strong credentials across the board with some excellent success stories behind them.

The team target the mid-market and work on deals that typically range between £45m - £500m competing with some of the leading sector focused investment backs and boutiques in the Northern Home Counties and across the UK.

The Associate Director will lead on client delivery and be the 'go to' person for junior and senior colleagues and clients, ensuring that everything is achieved in a timely manner.

The role entails leading complex and technically demanding corporate transactions; interfacing with client management, investors, funders and other professionals, whilst also consulting with other internal service lines. The role demands strong team leadership, commercial thinking to understand business issues, and excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Clients can also require advice on financial standards and policies, particularly for the due diligence process and with acquisition accounting.

The Associate Director will maintain existing client relationships but also innovate to drive new ways to improve quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is seeking a step up in a challenging and rewarding role with a top 15 practice.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA, or CFA qualified with at least 5 years post qualified experience, have a strong background in transaction services, ideally from a Top 20 practice firm, and have a proven background in deals or corporate development, worked across a number of sectors and with different financial institutions.

This individual will have the ability to translate their technical knowledge into sound commercial advice, to deliver excellent levels of service; linking the advisory arm to general practice and supporting the Partners who are winning the business and aiming to increase overall profitability.

As well as their technical ability the ideal candidate should posses excellent managerial and interpersonal skills; be confident in dealing with and managing clients and staff alike; as well as be able to effectively manage the sometimes conflicting stakeholder demands.

As a key member of the management team it is essential that you are a team player and have a proven background in a client facing role.
