Job Description

The post holder will implement the Quality Standards, Systems and Processes for the company's products, in line with group policy, and ensure these meet or exceed customer's requirements and ensure full compliance as per the site vision.

The post holder must strive for continuous improvement in all areas of operation and is responsible for ensuring quality assurance which is instrumental to delivering great value, safe, innovative and quality assured products.

Key Result Areas:

  • Technical Withdrawal - Zero product withdrawals in relation to any Technical, Compliance or Quality issues.
  • Green Status Audit Outcome - Achievement of customer green or equivalent status. Retail BRC grade A.



The Assurance Manager will be responsible for conducting risk based Quality Systems Audits at company facilities, distribution centres and key ingredient vendors. He/she will also be responsible for reviewing customer complaints, audit deficiencies and monitoring the status of root cause corrective actions. You will also play a key role in leading a culture change in this area through outstanding team-based relationships.

Act as a catalyst for change and improved performance quality through ensuring relevant, robust systems are developed and implemented to allow complete compliance to BRC and customer requirements whilst maintaining product quality, legality and safety. To maintain allergen and haccp controls on site and the accuracy of associated information.

The Successful Applicant

  • A strong technical professional educated to degree level or the equivalent in Food Science or related subject is important however extensive experience gained in a food production environment in dealing with supermarket multiples, local authority bodies and third party audits is advantageous.
  • The job holder must have an in depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards and be very familiar with Food Safety, Sanitation, Microbiology and Quality Assurance.
  • An experienced auditor with an in-depth working knowledge of HACCP, BRC (version 7) and Internal Auditing Systems.
  • A strong communicator and leader, experienced at all levels of the organisation and confident when dealing with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to drive improvements through initiatives.
  • Flexible, with a hands on approach.
  • Has implemented HACCP and QA programmes.
  • An understanding of, or experience in, quality standards such as ISO, TQM and other quality based systems.
  • Trained as an internal auditor.
