About Our Client
This client is a top 20 practice with multiple locations in Kent and across the country. They have a very relaxed and friendly environment and have a track record of recruiting internally. Their partners have been there as trainees and are keen to offer great progression prospects for this role. They have an exciting client base and there is a lot of autonomy. They boast a nice office in a central location.
A split, corporate and not for profit audit and accounts role, offering exposure to a range of clients from SMe's to large groups. This practice predominately concentrates on clients in the £5m-£15m region and provides a wide array of additional services outside of the remit of a general accountancy practice. The specification of the role will depend on the ability of the individual but will include:
Audit and accounts senior reporting to managers and, in some instances, directly to partners.
Planning the Assignment, including the preparation/updating of the permanent file and briefing/supervising the team.
Preparing the accounts/audit assignment papers and budgets in line with the firm's procedures.
Ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget and reporting to the appropriate manager/partner if required
Completing the accounts/audit programmes and checklists.
Where applicable, contacting clients to arrange the timing of the assignments and attendance at stock-takes etc.
Liaising/assisting with clients with adjustments to their management accounts.
Providing ad hoc support for managers/partners.
Preparing accounts/audit confirmation.
Preparation of Corporation Tax and/or Income Tax computations and liaise with the Tax Department and deal with any queries raised.
Controlling the assignments and ensuring that each section of the assignment is completed within the agreed budget.
Delegating detailed work to semi-seniors or juniors, review their work, providing on the job training assistance and carry out a task appraisal in order to feedback on performance.
Presenting the accounts/audit manager and partners with a complete assignment file.
Contributing to the firm's practice development.
The Successful Applicant
Candidates will be motivated, hard-working, and will come from a practice background with an appropriate professional qualification (ACA or ACCA).
They will have experience of accounts preparation and preferably audit.
They will be able to demonstrate good practical accountancy and communication skills. This role may be ideal for an ambitious individual with a smaller firm wanting to move to a Top 20 or for someone currently in an environment where there is limited opportunity for progression.
What's on Offer
£35,000-£40,000, dependent on experience
Normal hours of work are 37.5 per week but there is flexibility on how they are worked
28 days holiday (including statutory bank/public holidays)
