About Our Client

My client are a Top 10 accountancy practice who are recruiting a role in their office in the city of London. The firm have seen a large period of growth in recent years following a merger and acuisiton of another practice which has seen their revenue increase significantly. The role of an Audit Compliance Office is available following a significant increase in the practice's audit demands.

Job Description

For the role of Audit Compliance Officer this role involves the following core responsibilities:
- Carry out cold fie reviews and/or ISA 600 reviews to assess the compliance of the audit file with the Audit Regulations. Prepare a detailed list of findings by using a tailored checklist. Obtain responses from the partners (Responsible Individuals) and the audit managers and subsequently hold debrief meetings with them, initially at least to involve the Principal Manager to draw out learning points.
- Develop the experience to carry out hot file reviews at either planning and/or completion stages to ensure compliance of the audit file with the Audit Regulations.
- Prepare a final report with an adequet and appropriate conclusion to support the grading of each file and obtain Principal Manager and Compliance Partner agreement. Issue this final report to the RI, audit manager and audit team for them to read, sign and return.
- Consultation with the Principal Manager on a regular basis with regards to any complex or topical issues that arisewhilst performing file reviews.
- Making contributions to the annual debrief presentation to all qualified audit personnel and to the presentation of occasional training sessions on Ethics for new joiners and existing personnel.

The Successful Applicant

For the role of Audit Compliance Officer this Top 10 Accountancy firm are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA). The candidate should have a full understanding of International Standards of Auditing (UK and Ireland) and Ethical standards. Excellent knowledge of Audit Regulations, IFRS and Companies Act 2006.

As this role is based in central London someone who lives in or within commutable distance of the area would be suitable.
