Job Description

The Associate will receive training which will enable them to undertake a position as a Team Inspector for the Audit Quality Review team in the future. This role will involve participating in reviews of audit files and firm wide quality control procedures at the Big 4 and other large audit firms and dealing with senior partners and staff at those firms.

The Associate will also be given responsibility for significant elements of projects relevant to the regulation of auditors and accountants.

The work could include (but may not be restricted to):

  • direct monitoring of financial reports and audits of public interest entities;
  • enquiring into current market issues;
  • carrying out research and analysis into current market issues affecting accountants, auditors and actuaries; and
  • drafting reports for the Monitoring Sub Committee and Conduct Committee.



The Successful Applicant

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience at Audit Manager or above in public practice. Experience at a major UK audit firm preferred
  • Member of ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS or ICAI or equivalent;
  • Candidates should have a good knowledge of IFRS; and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the confidence and ability to engage with and, where appropriate, challenge senior partners.
