About Our Client
A Birmingham based Professional Services firm who are seeking to engage a Bid Manager.
The Bid Manager will support the Head of Business Development in the full cycle of the tender process and responsibilities will include:
- probing and challenging the bid invitation, working with the BD team and partners to assess and anticipate client needs, providing practical guidance on how the bid will be scored and what further information we need to discover * using project management techniques to ensure a well-planned, organised and controlled process, driving the bid forward making things happen through personal commitment * forming a view on a solid commercial basis as to the win strategy for each bid and articulating to the team in a convincing way * managing a robust bid/no bid process * spotting and developing new opportunities for the firm through tender portals and other procurement avenues * producing flawless pre-qualification questionnaires of the highest standard * working on wide-ranging tenders, producing winning, persuasive bids * the ability to review and understand the bidding process * the ability to challenge lead partner on content and positioning of bid * accountability for bid standards and guidelines * managing bid strategy meetings confidently, inspiring enthusiasm and support for the bid * working with lawyers, finance and any other experts to formulate models for an attractive and profitable offer that meets the prospect's needs and backs up our agreed strategy for the bid * contributing to the total effectiveness of the bid process, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member * coaching and guiding lawyers on effective presentation techniques, both through ad hoc workshops and specific pitch rehearsals as part of the bid process, delivering feedback on performance * serving as an ambassador for best practice bid management * maintaining a high level of market intelligence
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the role of Bid Manager will be working within the Professional services sector in either a Bids capacity or in a Business Development role which encompasses Bid writing.
