About Our Client

The Private Client Services team is an award-winning team of 16 that sits in the Reading branch of a big 4 accounting firm. They are recognised as market-leaders in providing innovative and wide ranging solutions to HNWIs, their businesses and their wealth structures around the world. Development is taken very seriously and you will receive world-class training from day 1 as well as having the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and interaction with senior members of the team on a daily basis.

Job Description

  • Working on a client portfolio of HNWi's including domiciled and non-domiciled individuals.
  • A focus on planning and advisory work which is truly diverse, covering a range of income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax issues and commercial transactions.
  • Using your strong project management skills to take responsibility for client relationships and liaising directly with clients and third parties.
  • Managing tax compliance services provided to our clients through our Compliance Centre of Excellence.

The Successful Applicant

e successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude and a genuine passion and drive to succeed in a career in Private Client Tax.

  • Must have previous client contact and able to provide examples.
  • At least 50% personal tax in current role.
  • ATT/CTA qualified/ studier and willing to study towards further professional tax qualifications.
  • Experience in Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations.
  • Experience of report writing and ad hoc advisory work.
  • Advising with regards to EIS and SEIS
  • Planning for mitigation of Inheritance Tax including use of trusts and tax effect of lifetime transfers
  • Dealing with enquiries into all aspects of direct taxation including experience of settlement and penalty negotiation.

Client experience:

  • Private clients and proprietors of OMB's (Partnerships and Companies)
  • Non Dom and non-resident clients.
  • UK based HNWI
  • Property owning clients using corporate vehicles and trusts.

Interpersonal skills:

  • Ability to come up with creative ideas, both technically and for business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal and presentation.
  • Good understanding of personal taxation issues.
  • Ability to 'see the bigger picture' and acts in the interests of the Firm and the team.
