About Our Client

This client is a highly reputable and well know accountancy practice based near Lewes. They have a great workiing culture and are currently looking for somebody to join their ever growing bookkeeping/ managements accounts team.

Job Description

  • Receive, approve and post payable invoices
  • Code payables for accounts and inputs
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, client suppliers, banking contacts, etc
  • Keep track of client assets
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports, as requested by clients and partners
  • Maintain client payroll records
  • Assist accountants with tax return preparation
  • Assist accountants with VAT returns
  • Produce accounts
  • Produce Management Accounts
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of two years' responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience, including bookkeeping, payroll and financial reports
  • Minimum of two years experience preparing sets of accounts including management accounts ideally gained in practice
  • Sage experience essential
  • Ideally AAT qualified
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
