About Our Client

My Client is one of the largest housing associations within London operating in key areas across the capital. They provide accommodation and associated services to approximately 40,000 residents with a mixture of affordable, social and market rent opportunities.

Job Description

As part of the local operations team, you will build good excellent working relationships with framework contractors. Your role will be to encourage performance improvement whilst addressing any contract issues quickly and effectively.

You will manage a program of investment work to deliver a high quality service, on time and to budget, and problem solve in order to maximise the performance of contracts..

This will require you to carry out post-inspections on site to assure completed works were carried out / necessary and have been completed to the required quality standard as specified in the contract.

You will also assist in assessing work needed for repairs covered by insurance and/or following serious flood, fires or other serious incidents referred to you by the client, including project management of any work required.

The Building Surveyor will also provide high quality technical surveying assessments and/or advice and/or reports on major repairs / defects / latent defects, cyclical maintenance works / Fire risk Assessing and any other contracted works as and when required.

The Successful Applicant

In order to be considered for this role, you must be able to display:

- MRICS / MCIOB qualified or have RICS accreditation from relevant degree or course.

- A strong track record in construction and/or maintenance related projects. Project Management knowledge of major works along and in preparing tender docs, scope of works and cost appraisal and dealing with interim / final accounts.

- Proven ability to manage a complex and time sensitive workload , delivering projects on time and to budget.

- Understanding and using Contract documents such as JCT / NEC.

- Knowledge and ability to write detailed technical reports.

- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
