Job Description

The Business Analyst - Strategy will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and evaluating business needs, and contributing to the strategic planning of the Business information systems and technology direction.
  • Overseeing the design of the outputs from the Change Portfolio to ensure it meets the business needs.
  • Championing the solutions throughout the early proposition phases of the lifecycle, and articulate the vision to a diverse group of senior stakeholders.
  • Gathering and documenting formal business needs; including leading discussions with diverse groups of stakeholders and business sponsors from across the Bank. This will include interviews and running requirements gathering workshops and documenting and disseminating the outputs from those workshops.
  • Identification of "as-is" state vs. "to-be" state using a variety of tools and techniques depending on the complexity of change.
  • Recommend improvements to business processes, including creating business process map diagrams for existing and proposed operational processes and systems.
  • Publish, distribute and ensure sign-off of the business requirements documents, along with performing impact analysis on requested changes to requirements.
  • Plan and design early proposition work, and proactively monitor overall progress, resolving issues, escalating them and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Manage stakeholders of relevant change, including third party contributors, across the Business.

The Successful Applicant

Successful candidates for Business Analyst - Strategy role must have strong experience delivering strategic and process change projects within Financial Services.

  • Track record of using business analysis and models to provide options, recommendations and significantly influencing business decisions.
  • Business change management experience, in particular the organisational, cultural and stakeholder challenges of complex business and regulatory change.
  • Proven project management skills, including planning, budget and time management, and risk, issue and dependency management. Good understanding of key governance documents such as business case, project charter, project plan, benefits realisation plan and communication plans.
  • Experience of working within the UK financial services industry and/or regulatory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political etc.
