About Our Client

Our client is a recognised international market leader of support services to the hospitality sector. The business generates revenues in excess of £200m and currently operates out of 4 countries. Over recent years the business has attained considerable growth both organically and via acquisition and provides and a broad range of services to an enviable portfolio of clients in the hospitality sector. The business is entering an exciting phase in their development with a mandate for international growth and as a result there is a need to appoint a Business Development Director.

Job Description

Reporting to the CEO the key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and deploying a sales and marketing strategy focused on growth and further developing market penetration, whilst ensuring sales targets are met
  • Providing inspirational leadership to the European country sales team and ensuring a comprehensive coverage across all market sectors and channels to market
  • Building strong relationships with key clients and supporting major bids and tenders
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the market, trends and commercial opportunities that the business could exploit
  • Developing sales and account management strategies at all levels in the sales function that will engender a results orientation
  • Developing detailed sales plans, budgets and forecasts for presentation to Group

The Successful Applicant

Prospective candidates will be of graduate calibre, proven Business Development Directors with a demonstrable track record of success ideally gained in the B2B support services, hospitality or logistics sectors. You will be a strong leader, able to motivate and develop, new business and account management teams. In addition taking a lead role in major bids and tenders and building strong relationships with key clients across the European region. Of equal importance are an exceptional commercial awareness coupled with strong interpersonal skills. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Business Development Director to make a real impact in a high growth international support services business.
