About Our Client

Our client has established a new team to retain, explore, develop and maintain the city council's commercial opportunities. The new Business Development Executive will focus on overseeing and developing our client's support services offer, maximising business development opportunities and selling a portfolio of services to new and existing clients.

Job Description

The successful Business Development Executive will have at least 3 years sales experience, knowledge and understanding of schools and academies. The education sector will be your primary focus but new revenue streams from other sectors will be pursued.

The appointed candidate will need to hit the ground running and in return be rewarded with an incentivised remuneration package.

You will be responsible for achieving year on year sales targets, maximising sales to schools, academies, doctors, public and new small scale customers such as SMEs.

Sales focus will be on:

o Education support services

o Business support services

o Property and transport services

Working with the business development manager, you will be required to contribute to a robust marketing strategy ensuring that the customer experience is of paramount importance.

As a member of the marketing & business development team:

- You will encourage and support an ethos of commercialism, financial accountability and business focus.

- You will be responsible for new business development via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing (60% out-of-office).

- You will manage client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle.

- You will deliver monthly sales targets by selling multiple support service solutions, services and products.

- You must be able to deliver a consultative sales solution process to prospects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience selling into the education sector
  • 3 years experience in a sales environment
  • Decisive but not a risk taker
  • Educated to A Level / Level 3 or equivalent

  • Basic Salary - £29,558-£32,778
  • Incremental Incentives - 5% of Net Income brought brought in the door

  • Contract will extend indefinitely for successful BDE
