Job Description


Working within our Michael Page Financial Services division which focuses on the recruitment of professionals in to all financial services sectors, the Business Development Manager is required to lead, develop and build our debt and structured finance recruitment across London and outlying areas.

A growing market, this person will take responsibility for business development of new clients in order to win new assignments, account management of existing clients to enhance revenue, lead relationships with senior clients and make generate recruitment fees

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES of the Business Development Manager, Debt and Structured Finance include the following:

  1. Debt and Structured Finance at Michael Page services by telephone, face-to-face meetings and email in order to win new clients and increase number of recruitment mandates
  2. Prepare and deliver pitches for client accounts
  3. Development of sales strategies, structures and development of initiatives and targets
  4. Discuss feedback of sales and recruitment processes with clients to ensure good service
  5. Preparing materials & marketing initiatives to win new business
  6. Advising clients regarding recruitment methodologies, market trends & terms of business
  7. Liaising with current clients, advising on recruitment issues and filling permanent vacancies in a timely manner.
  8. Training new consultants on the recruitment process and other day to day duties
  9. Driving activity levels across the team
  10. Liaising with Managers and Directors on business challenges, plans, innovations and best practice.
  11. Interviewing and screening of candidates on behalf of clients
  12. Determining specifications on vacancies
  13. Negotiating of fees for recruitment & other human capital services
  14. Referral & scheduling of interviews between candidates & clients
    1. Client acquisition - number of new clients developed
    2. Revenue - fees generated
    3. Business planning (market analysis, work the opportunities)
    4. Marketing (participation, contribution of new concepts)
    5. Client service - qualitative (level of service & relationships)
    6. Candidate service - qualitative (level of service & relationships)

    The Successful Applicant

    The successful candidate for the Business Development Manager, Debt and Structured Finance will:

    • be a University graduate (or have equivalent experience, skills and qualifications) with previous experience of recruitment into the finance/accounting sector.
    • possess a strong understanding of the complexities surrounding the debt and structured finance market
    • have excellent business development skills and a proven track record in the financial services sector, with in depth knowledge of recent changes in structure and strategy.
    • an established network of contacts across the debt and structured finance market
    • have experience of training and coaching staff in a sales environment.
