The Client is a well established and highly respected national independent firm of certified chartered accountants with offices throughout the UK.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven, creative and forward thinking Business Development Manager to join the firm's London Business Development team.

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of business development plans and campaigns, driving business development activities, providing input to the tendering process, and proactively helping to target and win work. As well as sector responsibility you will also offer support to key growth areas of the firm as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

General

* Be the lead business development resource for specific sectors and offer general marketing and business development support to the London region as required by the business

* Liaise with Regional Heads of Business Development and their teams, fellow sector Business Development leaders and the Communications team

* Develop a co-ordinated business development plan to help drive the growth of your sectors

* Manage stakeholder relationships, keeping the team and other stakeholders informed of plans for your sectors, acting as a central point for good ideas and best practice to be shared across the firm

* To fully understand your sectors, including the local and national market, and the full breadth of our services to identify opportunities to upsell and cross sell

Communications

* Working with the Internal Communications Manager to ensure that the sectors have effective internal communications in place, in line with other sectors

* Develop strong and consistent messages and guidelines for internal
and external communications in the team

Business Development

* Create innovative, pre-planned and forward-thinking campaigns to cultivate existing relationships and generate new business, making use of all channels to market, working alongside all regions, Communications and all relevant Partners and staff

* Ensure that the CRM system, Saleslogix, effectively supports the sectors in its targeting and client care activity and that leads and other activity are appropriately recorded

* Ensure all clients and targets receive appropriate collateral as produced by the sector groups and technical team

* Support the tender activity of the team, including involvement in the bid/no bid process as required and best team approach, with input into a weekly call

* Feed into 'Grade A' opportunities and advise and challenge the team on approach to tenders and best practice as an adviser to the sectors

* Assist in the development of materials to support business development, including credentials, testimonials and case studies

Reporting

* Be results oriented, with a focus on reporting of key performance metrics for the sectors, including wins, losses and pipeline both nationally and for the London region

* Conduct tender analysis as appropriate to understand where we perform well, where performance can be improved and act on that accordingly

* Specific tracking of no bid decisions and details of tenders and re-tenders that are lost with a view to ensuring we are "ready" to tender the next time it comes around
Other

* Work on other ad hoc projects as directed by the Head of Business Development (London), National Head of Business Development, Head of Communications, Head of Client Experience or Chief Marketing Officer.

Candidate Requirements

The role requires a very well organised individual with drive, enthusiasm and ability to challenge Partners to deliver the best results

The role requires:

A strong understanding of business development within a professional services environment or comparable industry

* Proven experience of lead generation and proactive business development skills in a business to business organisation

* Proven experience of strong internal and external communications and ability to react quickly in a fast paced and growing team

* Proven experience of working with senior staff/partners, building strong advisory relationships and an effective internal and external network

* A flexible character who is able to work across sectors with a diverse range of products and services

* Experience of working on and leading written tenders and managing and coaching experienced pitch teams

* The ability to travel to various office locations nationally to support the sectors

What's on Offer

A salary of up to £50,000 plus excellent benefits package and annual profit share.
