About Our Client

Our client is an established household name within the utilities market. Given upcoming reforms in their market in the new year there is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated BDM to make some real inroads into a competitive marketplace.

Job Description

  • Generation of new business relationships and negotiation of new revenue for the company, to agreed targets
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to define prospecting and nurturing strategies and workflows which will result in qualified leads
  • Creating and maintaining Business Development partnerships and alliances
  • Fully understand the portfolio business drivers and feedback of customer requirements to enable the business to develop innovative, profitable and sustainable solutions and drive customer satisfaction
  • Accurate forecasting and management of the sales pipeline through participation in regular business development forecasts and plans
  • Preparation of PQQ, tender and proposal submissions to meet opportunities, ensuring all commercial deals are compliant with agreed policies and in line with the company's strategy and direction
  • Ownership and management of the contact strategy and co-ordinate with internal executive sponsors to ensure success in complex negotiations / contract closure
  • Represent the company at national industry events
  • Ensure new customers acquired are handed over to the Account Management team and strong relationships are maintained throughout the onboarding process

The Successful Applicant

  • Experienced business development manager, strategic thinker and outstanding past sales records.
  • Track record of successful solution-selling and achievement of sales targets to a multiple customer portfolio
  • Track record of delivering large value sales contracts
  • Account planning and account development plan approach to selling
  • Able to demonstrate proven relationship building skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Drive business growth by identifying and developing an opportunity
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Valid UK driving licence

Basic Salary £50,000 - £60,000 plus Company Car plus Bonus
