The company is at the cutting edge design and manufacture of sophisticated systems and components for military land vehicles, civil aircraft, space, satellites, weapons systems. deep sea exploration and drilling, rigorous medical applications and semiconductor. Their systems and components have been engineered to extremely precise tolerances for the most demanding applications with total reliability.

Job Description

Generate/capture new "Profitable" business opportunities/programs for the company from customers across the Defence, Aerospace, O&G, Medical and Semiconductor vertical in the UK and Europe.

Hunting - Identify, prospect, and develop new sales opportunities within existing clients and new customer targets.

Establish solid relationships with current customer business leaders, Sales team, Engineering, and Operations.

Understand and manage customer expectations, monitor orders and raise flags if not meeting expectations, update forecasts frequently, ensure all customer issues are brought to final resolution.

Work with customer's engineers to define application requirements.

Responsible for sale forecasting, budget preparation, and goal setting for UK and Europe.

Extensive travel (50%+) to customer facilities as needed to strengthen relationship, discuss potential new business opportunities and/or review status of existing business.

The Successful Applicant

The Business Development Manager:

Will have a Developed in-depth knowledge in technical solutions, applications and Company's capabilities to address new market niches. Develop growth strategies for customers, markets and products.

Will have and be able to Develop/Sell Company value proposition to its customers.

The successful candidate will have a proven demonstrable track record in delivering profitable sales from new business activities.

Ideally you will have sold a technical solution across a wider range of hi tech environments.

You will be able to demonstrate longevity, ability to develop real pipelines and key revenue successes against targets.

Educated in a technical discipline to degree level is preferred but not essential.

You will be engaging, articulate, grounded with the desire to win.
