Business Development Manager covering the Midlands with reporting in Leicestershire

  • Visiting and speaking with clients. Undertake sales visits to new and existing clients which may require frequent travel in UK.
  • Assisting them in reviews of their contracts and providing information and advice.
  • Managing discussions with them about their future strategy.
  • Explaining price rises and new services.
  • Ensuring that sales discussions are closed appropriately this requires an understanding of the contracting process and our Terms & Conditions. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Sales Director, Regional Director and Commercial Director to manage the contract process.
  • Providing accurate reports and documentation to the Management Team to enable informed decision-making and financial control. It is important that we can measure success.
  • Meeting KPI's and agreed sales targets.
  • To quickly grasp and understand the sales procedure including all aspects of the niche market we operate in and to absorb a full understanding of our services and how they are delivered.
  • Canvass leads, perform telesales calls, and forge relationships and inroads with key decision makers to be able to create new business opportunities.
  • Set up and arrange appointments with existing and new clients. Manage your own diary bearing in mind our clients are nationally based.
  • Prepare customer proposals/quotes using a bespoke CRM system and answer any client queries as appropriate.
  • Regularly liaise with individuals at top level and be confident at selling into both public and private sectors. Keep informed about key industry events - company performance and future plans, personnel etc.
  • Attend ad-hoc meetings with members of the Company as necessary.
  • Maximise our client network and both manage and liaise with our existing client base to monitor needs and identify growth opportunities and to retain our existing clients.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Company.

  • Self-starter, professional, first class interpersonal skills with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Should be a natural sales person, hungry for success, focused on achieving results/ goals and ambitious.
  • A persuasive negotiator with powerful presentation skills: we need the Regional Account Manager to close deals with professionals who do not like being sold to.
  • An excellent communicator, good team player, who possesses strong client relationship building skills: Must be articulate, have clarity in all written materials and the ability to present sales propositions effectively and persuasively is vital.
  • Must be responsive to feedback, receptive to client's needs with an inner drive to go beyond what is expected.
  • Must possess exceptional accuracy skills, be detail focused with strong project planning, organisational and business writing skills.
  • Flexible with work time. Able to perform out of hour's duties, travel as necessary and perform weekend work if required. A willingness to take personal responsibility for the successful delivery of a project: all team members work hard, often after usual UK working hours.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast moving environment, dealing with staff at all levels in the organisation through to senior company executives. Well able to solve problems creatively, as clients expect from us.
  • Must possess a clean, valid driver's licence.
