Michael Page Procurement & Supply Chain are supporting this Public Sector organisation to recruit a new permanent buyer as part of recent growth plans.

Job Description

The Buyer for this Public Sector organisation in Birmingham will be responsible for:

- Support the Category Manager in major procurement initiatives.

- Manage sub OJEU procurement projects as necessary.

- Drive Value for Money across the business.

- Ensure all contracts are fully understood and documented.

- Developing strategic sourcing models and options across the above portfolio of related spend categories.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Buyer for this Public Sector organisation in Birmingham will demonstrate the following core competencies:

- Candidates will ideally be educated to A Level with a minimum of two years experience in a commercial or business environment.

- Experience in managing procurement projects is desirable.

- The successful candidate will have an interest in pursuing a career in procurement.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, adapts personal approach to situation and person to achieve positive impact and results.
