Our client, based in north Doncaster, are a well respected employer in the area. Alongside being a leader in their field, the business offers a collaborative culture alongside traditional values. This role of Buyer has been created to support further growth within the procurement team.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the role of Buyer will include the following:

  • Managing a purchasing portfolio c£5-20M+ (depending on no of suppliers, SKU's, profit impact)
  • Tendering and bench marking category
  • Delivering cost reduction against agreed targets - P&L impact
  • Identifying new supply options with Global suppliers
  • Negotiate effective commercial terms with input from Commercial Manager
  • Understand product category (end to end supply)
  • Attend visits at suppliers premises
  • Ensure new product developments meet the depots availability and quality needs and commercial requirements

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for this role will be looking for their next step in a purchasing career and ideally want to enter into a business which can facilitate training, development and further career progression.

  • Preferably Degree educated
  • Preferable (but not essential) CIPS or similar qualification
  • Minimum 2 years Purchasing and/or end to end Supply chain experience
  • Effective communicator with global exposure
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Good stakeholder management (external and internal)
