Job Description

The role:

  • Source and negotiate prices for materials, consumables, equipment and services as required by internal stakeholders.
  • Manages and coordinates activities with relevant suppliers as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
  • Updates purchase prices and lead times for production materials in SAP.
  • Processes SAP purchase requisitions and updates purchase orders once suppliers acknowledge the purchase orders and confirm the requested delivery dates.
  • Supplier Change Notifications are processed and prepared for submission to the Review Board as per GMP procedures.
  • Ensures that purchasing information and supplier data is kept up to date.
  • Review purchasing lead times for production materials annually so that the material master planning data is kept up to date.
  • Reviews PPV regularly with finance and updates stock standard costs to ensure that the material master data is up to date before the year end stock revaluation.
  • Housekeeping and reporting weekly/monthly.

The Successful Applicant

  • Substantial procurement experience within a FMCG environment
  • Has excellent SAP skills and is at intermediate level or higher in using MS Word, Excel (Advanced) and Outlook
  • Has a good understanding of purchasing raw materials
  • Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • A good understanding of MRP and other material replenishment systems.
  • Must be organised and able to work to tight schedules.
