About Our Client

Our client is a major London Authority based in the heart of West London.

Job Description

As Capital Works Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an individual portfolio of projects on time and within budget ensuring each project represents sound commercial value for residents and the borough.

This will involve managing a portfolio of different projects, however will have a key focus on residential led construction and re-investment. You will form a strong partnership with the technical lead on the planned maintenance program ensuring sustainable long term solutions.

You will ensure best practice is managed through the time line of the projects and be responsible for ensuring all construction standards and processes are being met and achieved at a high quality standard.

This position will require the individual to work in diverse and complex environments therefore it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and be able to influence at all levels.

The Successful Applicant

In order to be considered for this role you must be able to display:

  • Recognised project management and/or program management qualification (either APM, MSP, PRINCE2 or at least significant knowledge in this area)
  • Member of a related Property based Professional Body Membership such as Chartered Building Surveyor or Chartered Architect
  • Proven record of successfully managing local government building projects simultaneously, demonstrating best practice in trends of design and function, and value for money
  • Proven application of project management techniques and knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of project management in the building sector of local government
  • Strong understanding of the context within which the Council services operate
  • Knowledge and awareness of methods of sustainability
  • A track record of improving the built environment
  • Confidence in using project management tools - e.g. Microsoft project, Prince 2
