Job Description

This role is primarily responsible for Cash Management within the Internal Funds section of the Operations Department, supporting a number of internal investment departments. The Associate supports the cash management function, international fund transfers and the management of corporate entitlements (e.g. dividends etc.) by investigating exceptions and mismatches with internal and external counter parties (under the supervision) with the objective of ensuring that trades are externally settled by custodians and internally booked on the systems in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Checks custodian bank accounts to monitor the movements of funds and reports positions to the necessary Custodian and Internal Department.
  • Posts Foreign Exchanges transfers, Cash Receipts & Payments and processes Bank Transfers.
  • Assists in reviewing and investigating all standard and non-standard processing and settlement issues related to internal and external parties initiating the necessary steps to resolve them.
  • Reconciles trades and cash balances (e.g. Bank transfers, Bonds, Bills, Commercial Paper, Equities, Deposits, Loans, Equity Futures, Equity Bonds & Options, Futures)
  • Prepares Standard Settlement Instructions and SWIFT messages
  • Attends meetings with internal departments, Brokers, Custodians and Correspondent Banks to discuss relevant issues.
  • Carry out other duties as required
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, with high standards of service for key stakeholders
  • Team orientated, working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practise, creating an awareness of issues throughout the team/department

The Successful Applicant

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; professional qualifications in an accountancy or investment related profession desirable (CPA, ACA, CFA, etc.)
2. 3+ years’ experience in a relevant Cash Management capacity within the financial services industry. Collateral management experience desirable.
3. Experience supporting trade processes within a variety of asset classes, ideally including Equity/Private Equity
4. Familiar with relevant trade processing systems, such as CTM, SWIFT
5. Western Educated
