Job Description

In this high profile Category Controller position, you will be responsible for driving thought leadership for category management excellence across UK business unit that will define strategic direction and category processes. You will lead, coach and inspire a team of five that will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategy and delivering excellence at point of sale through unbeatable range optimisation and merchandising. Through interrogation and interpretation of sales and shopper data, you will identify and leverage strategic and tactical business opportunities within designated key accounts. By understanding customers, shoppers and brands, as well as developing valuable retail partnerships, you will enrich the execution of product marketing in store and accelerate growth for both Beiersdorf and the total skin & beauty care category.

The Successful Applicant

Bringing significant category management and leadership experience from within an FMCG environment, you will be both strategic and analytical with the ability to generate credible and commercial category solutions. Along with your strong academic background, and excellent interpersonal skills, Beiersdorf are looking for demonstrable experience in / understanding of:

  • influencing, communicating and relationship building
  • building strong and sustainable relationships with both internal and external customers
  • interpretation of brand, shopper and retail data to make strategic commercial recommendations
  • driving action and excellence in execution.
