Job Description

The role holder will be a key member of the Procurement and Contracts leadership team who will be solely responsible for driving strong financial performance and compliance through the leverage of group spend in the IT category.

The position will establish and implement procurement, contract and supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies that align with senior business stakeholders to deliver business objectives and results. They will also be recognised as the single point of contact, and strategic business partner for procurement and contracts at senior executive level for IT.

  • Lead the creation and implementation of "make versus buy" strategies and annual execution plans for responsible procurement & contracts activities that delivers long term business benefits and EBITDA.
  • Be the single point of contact and strategic business partner at senior executive (MD) level as required, and on a group wide basis in order to ensure the strategic engagement with Procurement & Contracts.
  • Provide leadership in risk management through leading commercially focused and compliant (OJEU) sourcing / tendering activities and establishing robust contracts for goods and services with suppliers.
  • Be an accountable member of IT functional leadership team and Boards to ensure full integration with and support for stakeholders. Play a leading role in the delivery of the ERP/SAP and Ariba Buyer programmes.
  • Ensure full compliance in the execution of Procurement Policy and procedures, including the exercising of delegated authority.
  • Lead and develop staff to achieve the highest level of professional standards and competence in Procurement.

The Successful Applicant

  • Past experiences of dealing with stakeholders in an effective and efficient manor.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Vast procurement experience, with a background in IT.
  • Degree educated, preferably in a business related subject and MCIPS or MRICS.
  • A successful track record in striving for and achieving business focused results.
  • In depth SAP/ARIBA knowledge
