Our client is an expanding global business, specialising in medical equipment.

Job Description

As a Category Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • You will provide procurement solutions to customer requirements; including recommendations on product items and alternative available products.
  • You will expedite purchase orders; by request and based on achieving best price/maintenance of appropriate stock levels
  • You will manage and develop suppliers, to include the implementation of specific supplier agreements.
  • You will have a commercial understanding and analysis of market movements and pricing, including the negotiation of prices.
  • You will develop, implement and deliver specific product and supplier strategies for assigned categories.
  • You will develop expertise within assigned categories and be the "go to" person for advice.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Category Specialist, will be:

  • A minimum of 3 years within a procurement position.
  • Educated to a Degree level with CIPS accreditation or working towards
  • Relevant sourcing and category management experience and expertise.
  • Strong commercial skills and highly developed analytical skills.
