Job Description

  • Previous experince of working on Lending projects is a must for this role.
  • Responsible for providing input to business strategy and prioritisation of Workstream Portfolio. Manage research to determine and quantify options solutions to meet strategic fit .
  • Develop, maintain and use business and organisational awareness and technical knowledge to influence business strategy and strategic fit that supports change.
  • Use knowledge to create, scope and deliver projects which directly contribute to the strategic objectives based on knowledge and understanding of the organisational impact of change.
  • Ability to transition project status to business as usual (BAU) whilst ensuring that the business is actively involved in key stages of the project or programme.
  • Ability to identify the threats, opportunities and drivers for change.
  • Ability to assess change drivers and translate them into viable programmes/projects with a clear vision and objectives.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the Risk/Finance Manager to ensure effective resource planning. Formulate a resourcing strategy that is compatible with Risk/Finance.
  • Regarded internally as a project management expert, providing specialist knowledge and support to project teams to shape business development and resolve business issues. Will ensure that own knowledge is up to date and is reflective of best practice.
  • To provide leadership and strategic direction to the project team.
  • Manage the impact of project deliverables on the customer and ensure these fully support the customer proposition.
  • Translate the strategic objectives of change through clear and focused delivery by effectively managing the allocated budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring the project deliverables are capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors / stakeholders to ensure the business requirement is clearly defined and documented.
  • Accountable for defining the scope of the project, owning and managing project goals, risks, issues and resources.

The Successful Applicant

  • Significant experience of change management and recognised as a programme. management practitioner with experience in relevant area of expertise and across multiple delivery platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Banking and other customer facing franchises and support functions within the RBS.
  • Project Lifecycle planning and delivery of large high priority projects with a proven track record of end-to-end delivery.
  • Commercial acumen with a track record of delivering to budget and within timescales.
  • Previous experience of managing multi disciplinary teams and management of third parties.
  • Communicating verbally and in writing to inform and persuade up to Director level.
  • Proven understanding of risk concepts (appetite, assess, monitor, control).
  • Model behaviours in line with the People and Leadership standards.
  • Competent use of standard project tools / applications.
