An international business with arms branching out into a number of industries. Mostly supplying to the Automotive and Yellow Goods industry this client is a Global Leader of its field.

Job Description

  • Driving implementation of Lean modules to site targets against the clients requirements;
  • Develop strategic short and long term lean strategies to improve key KPI's of OEE, ATP, NRFT, yield, etc;
  • The development of an effective Improvement review system involving multi-functional teams across the key site initiatives of productivity increase, waste reduction and cost optimisation;
  • Deliver budgeted savings to operational costs, through continuous improvement and lean projects;
  • Reduction of total waste through initiatives developed with the operational teams;
  • Facilitating multi-functional improvement teams in Continuous improvement activity based around the lean tools of 5S, SMED, VSM, Visual management, problem solving;
  • Educate and mentor staff on the effective application of lean and CI methodology;
  • Accurate and detailed presentations of Key KPI information, designed to generate improvements against budgeted targets;
  • To work in conjunction with the the Supply Chain, operational and Technical teams to deliver material savings, via waste reduction initiatives, based on total loss analysis;
  • To develop and sustain, an effective Lean auditing system;

To constantly challenge the norm, and be an enthusiastic developer of new ideas, leading to quantifiable savings.

The Successful Applicant


  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in relevant discipline ; e.g. mechanical / production / quality engineering, but not necessary if sufficient experience
  • Desirable:
  • A level or above in maths, statistics, physics, chemistry, other science
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt
  • Experience in manufacturing / production environment in a continuous improvement role'
  • Proven lean or continuous improvements specialist with good people management and communication skills to lead and facilitate;
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and implementing CI projects; e.g. lean, kaizen, 5S, VSM, SMED, TPM projects in an ISO manufacturing environment;
  • Experience of leading improvement groups to create quantifiable savings;
  • A positive, flexible, practical and innovative approach to problem solving;
  • Lots of energy, a sense of urgency and direction and an ability to inspire at all levels;
  • Effective communicator with all levels of staff and management team;
  • Experience with a performance based data system, data capture and methodology for trend analysis and creating reports;
  • Self-reliant and resourceful, able to work under pressure, to multi-task, facilitate and coordinate teams and resources;
  • Highly numerate;

Highly computer literate (MS Excel, database software, presentation software).

What's on Offer

  • £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experince
