Job Description

Lead and develop the Group planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, resulting in more meaningful and robust analyses of profit, cash flow and working capital.

Responsible for preparation of all external stakeholder reports and internal formal Global Leadership reporting.

Delivering insightful analysis of results through monthly business review process. Improving the understanding of trends, risks and opportunities across the UK and non-EU business units and enhancing ability to action plan and course correct.

Working with business units to deliver impactful and insightful analysis into business performance across the Group and providing senior management and investors with understandable, clear and robust information.

Turning financials numbers into a compelling business story which is readily understandable across a varied population of stakeholders.

Providing support for the five year strategic plan, periodic re-forecasts and annual operating plan for the Group including analysis of investment proposals, working closely on group strategy.

Lead a small qualified team (including FP&A Analyst & Financial Accountant).

Enthusiastic and active hands on participation in development and maintenance of integrated business modelling for the department to service board, business, investors and other stakeholders.

Influence and lead business unit, Group stakeholders, investors and external bodies (Banks or CAA) to achieve the vision.

The Successful Applicant

ACA (ICAEW) Accountant with demonstrable experience in implementing and managing the forecasting and budgeting processes across a group (preferably with some degree of international exposure).

Experience in most sectors will be considered as the FP&A skill set required for this role is highly transferrable.

Ability to understand business strategy and articulate the key financial messages arising from it

Strong analytical skills and an ability to distil key messages and make recommendations from complex data

Extensive business modelling creation and development experience in Excel and other reporting media

Proactive, forward looking and challenging mind-set, with confidence to lead agenda.

Proven leadership and influencing skills across a diverse range of stakeholders and a business partnering outlook

Proven team management skills and coaching mind-set

An intellectual capacity with a 'doer' mentality

A track record of driving change / project management / process improvement but using emotional intelligence and diplomacy in their approach
