Job Description

* Participates in and provide legal support for all aspects of commercial, corporate services, supply chain, property, technology and commercial contracts.

* Anticipating, identifying, mitigating and reporting legal risks in relation to commercial contracts and initiatives

* Improving reporting and risk management in relation to corporate projects and initiatives by: (i) assessing the need for and providing legal training to business units of the bank and the legal & compliance network; and (ii) developing know-how, standard forms, precedents, policies, procedures and processes.

* Reviewing, advising, drafting and negotiating material technology and commercial contracts, licensing and sponsorship agreements.

* Providing legal support to the Business, support functions and technology teams on ongoing vendor and contract management issues.

* Providing technology and IP specialist advisory support to country and product legal teams.

* Advising and managing pre-litigation stage contract disputes.

* Support relevant internal policy development and implementation as necessary.

* Ensure close coordination with other Legal function teams.

* Where external counsel is appointed, liaise with external counsel and ensure the scope of work is defined and appropriate, oversee the quality of work and manage external legal costs, and ensure appropriate overall matter management.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a general commercial lawyer with experience in the Financial Services sector.
